If you see an icon like this at the top-left of a chart cell

it means that a chart has been set up as a ‘Parent chart’. In simple terms, it means that this single chart will filter all other charts on the same category based on what you click on.

In this example, we have 2 charts on the category and the ‘Employee Count & Attrition by Job Role’ chart has been set up as a Parent chart. The second chart on the category shows how many employees work in each department.

If we click a Job Role in the Parent chart, the second chart will be filtered to show the total number of employees who work in the related department for the chosen job role. By choosing the Human Resources role, the ‘Employee Number by Department’ chart is filtered to show the Human Resources department.

When an option has been chosen in the Parent chart, an icon will be displayed in the bottom-left corner of the chart cell that can be used to show all job roles again.
