Considerations with Rich Text Editing

  • Any text box that was previously formatted using HTML may have some compatibility problems when using the text formatting tool

  • If there are any issues when using the new formatting options, formatting will not be displayed and a warning message will appear in the browser debug console. The message will include the details of the text box where the problem has occurred. This information, if sent to us, will help us to improve Rich Text Editing in future releases

  • Card Charts previously created with html content may have some appearance issues when downloaded as Word.docx documents

  • To assist with performance issues, the report editing screen will now only allow users to scroll between a limited number of pages surrounding the currently selected page when using the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the report editing screen. In this example, we selected page 1 of a 9 page report. We can still see and navigate to other pages of the report using the left-hand scroll bar but the scroll bar on the right will only allow us to scroll through pages 1 & 2 (please see following screenshot). If we then click on page 2 (in the middle portion of the screen) we will be able to scroll from page 1-3 using the right-hand scroll bar. Each time we select another page e.g. page 3 the first page will disappear from the right-hand scroll option and we will only be able to scroll between pages 2-4

  • If text has previously been formatted with HTML, the formatting of the text will still be displayed correctly

  • When using the formatting tool to format text (e.g. selecting text and applying bold formatting), the selected text box may not display the correct formatting due to unexpected html elements used in previous implementations. This happens very rarely. If it does occur, please hit the undo button and recreate the content using the new formatting tool bar

  • Text boxes that were created without previous manual html editing will be displayed correctly
