Moving Charts to a New Category

If you need to delete a Category you will need to make sure that you remove all charts that were created on that Category first. Also, if you want to give a user access to a chart that was created on a Category they don’t have access to, one of the easiest options (if possible) is to move the chart to the relevant Category.

There are a couple of ways of moving charts, we’ll show you both…

Method 1

This method would be best suited when you only need to move a single chart. If you want to move charts in bulk, please have a look at method 2.

Find the chart on the Dashboard that you want to move and click the ‘Edit chart’ in the Chart Tools menu.

At the top-left of the Chart Editor screen, click the ‘Config’ icon.

In the ‘Chart Category’ section, you’ll be able to see the Category that the chart currently belongs to. Click drop-down and choose the new Category that you want to move the chart to. Remember to click the ‘Save’ icon after making your changes.

Method 2

To move multiple charts, click the ‘Dashboard Configuration’ icon at the top-right of the Dashboard. Access to this area of the system is linked to your user profile, if you can’t see this icon please speak to your System Administrator.

Click ‘Category Access’ and select the Category that the chart(s) currently belongs to by ticking the relevant box in the Category Name section. In the ‘Chart Name’ section, you’ll be able to see all the charts that belong to this Category. Tick the boxes next to the charts that you want to move.

At the bottom of the ‘Chart Name’ section, click the ‘To Move’ button.

Select the Category that you want to move the chart(s) to and click ‘Move Selected’.
