Changing Your Password

The System Administrator may have set your password to expire after a certain number days. If this is the case, and the specified number of days has been reached, you will be forced to change your password when you next log in to the dashboard.

However, if you have the correct privileges in your user account you may be able to change your password at any time, without having to wait for the specified number of days. This would be particularly useful in cases when you think another user may know your password.

To check if you have the correct privileges to change your password, click ‘More Options’ at the top-right of the dashboard.

If you can see your user name when you click icon you may have the correct privileges.

The next thing to check is if you can see the ‘Change Password’ section when you click your user name.

If you can see this section, you will be able to change your password.

Enter your current password and then enter your new password in the ‘New Password’ and ‘Confirm New Password’ sections.

If you see this message,

it will because your password is not complex enough.  Your administrator can put minimum requirements for passwords into the system and if your new password doesn't match these requirements you'll see the 'Invalid password' message.  Enter a password that matches the specified criteria, you could try using a phrase – a mixture of case, characters, and numbers, e.g. turn a phrase like 'I Love Data' into IL0v3D.

When all the details have been entered, click ‘Change Password’. The following message will be displayed and you will now need to use your new password when you next log in to the dashboard.
