Column

Column charts are very similar to Bar charts except for the orientation of the bars.

Column

A Bar chart has limited space in the category axis, if data labels are long this axis may look very cluttered. A column chart, however, is a better option for displaying an axis with longer labels.

Example

A Column chart that displays the same data used in the Bar chart example – the X axis (Dimension) is now displayed on the left-hand side and the Y axis (Measure) is displayed along the bottom of the chart.

Stacked Column

A Stacked Column chart uses the same data objects as a stacked Bar chart, the only difference between the two is the orientation of the data bars.

100% Stacked Column

This chart is very similar to a stacked column chart, but shows the values broken down into percentiles. It is therefore best used when the percentage/ proportion is more important than the absolute value. Each of the bars in this chart will add up to 100%. The Legend (Gender) is used to show the percentage split between male and female employees for each Job Role.
