The Power of Prediction: Starting Your Analytical Journey

Continuing our series of webinars, with “The Power of Prediction” we’ll be exploring how analytics can help your business and explaining what machine learning means and how you could use it in day-to-day activities. We’ll be reviewing the pro’s and cons of analytical (Machine Learning (ML)) models, the extensive capabilities within multiple industries, and discussing the preconceived ideas and what the truth is. Discover how analytics helps you understand how your customers work and think, what external elements may impact them and how you need to adjust your own approaches to forecasting and increase success rates. We’ll also address the fact that any analytical model is only as good as the data that you input into it! We’ll use examples to demonstrate how to start thinking about analytics and the process you’ll need to take to get on the ML journey – it’s not as mind-boggling as you might think! In addition to this, we’ll demystify all the jargon that is associated with ML practices. We want to change the way people view Machine Learning and show you through the day to day examples, exactly what you have been looking for!

AI: Friend or Foe?

What:

AI: Friend or Foe?

Artificial Intelligence (or AI for short) is becoming increasingly more common in everyday life, affecting every aspect of how we live. Ever wondered how your social media feeds are showing up with the items you just researched? Companies are increasingly turning to AI to help them understand their customers better and plan for the future. But is it making the world a better place, or are we going to be replaced by computers? In this virtual event we’re going to be looking at where do we draw the line? How we manage the fear? Is regulation the answer? And are you happy with decisions being made for you and ultimately, is AI a friend… or a foe? We’re delighted to be joined at this event by Dennis Dokter and Nik Lomax. Dennis is the Relationship Officer at Nexus, the University of Leeds’ innovation hub. With a strong background in Philosophy and Ethics of Society Science & Technology, Dennis’ specialties are dealing with questions on data and research methodology. Nik Lomax is Associate Professor of Data Analytics for Population Research at the University of Leeds. He is a Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and is co-Director of the Economic and Social Research Council funded Consumer Data Research Centre.

On Route with Pi: Roadmap

We know you want to hear what’s coming up from Panintelligence in 2021; what our roadmap looks like and what you can expect to see delivered in the next year. At our “On Route with Pi” webinar we want to take this opportunity to discuss the market trends, look at how this has impacted us and present to you our roadmap, which will show you can rely on Panintelligence for 2021. We need you to be involved in our development journey, so we’ll not only be explaining how you can raise your suggestions for enhancement but take a look back at “you asked….we delivered” from previous sessions. We’ll also be examining the rise of cloud data sources. Gartner has predicted worldwide public cloud spend to grow 18% in 2021, with 70% of organizations using cloud to increase cloud spending in the wake of COVID-19. With the cloud agenda now the default, we’ll be discussing our response to this.

Planning Driven By Data

What:

Planning Driven By Data

Data planning is an important process for any project – whether short or long term. Aims can be balanced, so that decisions made early in a project do not negatively impact on the ability to find and use the research data in the future.

In this virtual event we’re going to be looking at, following on from the recent UK Census, how all planning is driven by the data – whatever the data says we plan accordingly, but is this the way to go? Is it always right? And what do we do when it goes wrong?
