CSS tags allow you to change the appearance of one or more areas of your dashboard. This enables users to apply their own colour options to the dashboard. Please refer to the following sections for information about the areas that you can make changes to:
Invalid Formatting
When invalid CSS is entered in the Themes>Style
section of Dashboard Configuration, a red exclamation mark will be displayed. When hovering over this a message will be displayed explaining the incorrect CSS. Users will be prevented for saving changes to this area of the dashboard until the invalid formatting has been corrected.
In the following example, the : has been missed after ‘background’.
Guidelines for creating a dark theme
Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to find out if text is inside, outside or partially inside the data blocks. We recommend the following steps to ensure that text labels work well when using dark themes:
use dark application background
use dark colours for chart data
use light (e.g. white) text for chart data, which can be defined as per the screenshot below
