Creating Parent Charts

What is a parent chart?

A parent chart is used to filter all other charts and tables on the same category with choices that uses make in the parent chart.

In the following example, we have the ‘Job Role and Employee Count’ chart selected as a parent chart. This icon at the top-right of the chart cell indicates a parent chart.

When users click on a section of the doughnut chart, all other charts will be filtered to only show this information. This screenshot shows the category without any choices been made on the parent chart.

This screenshot shows how the charts will look after a user clicks on the ‘Research Scientist’ role in the parent chart.
