Adding colour to a data table

If you want to draw attention to certain data/ figures in your data table you can add colour.

On the ‘Colours’ screen in chart editor, a different section will be displayed for each column in your table.

To add colour, click the ‘Add’ icon next to the column that you want to add colour to.

In this example, we’re adding colour to identify all staff who have a particular ‘Job Role’.

Choose the comparison operator from the first drop-down, in this case ‘equal to’, and then click the second drop-down and select the ‘Job Role’ you want to highlight.

To change the colour used, please refer to this page for more information.

If you want the colour to apply to cells that contain the selected ‘Job Role’ only, leave the ‘Apply colour to whole row’ box unticked.

Ticking this box, will colour the entire row where the ‘Job Role’ is equal to ‘Research Director’.
