Traffic Light
This is similar to the speedometer but is more binary; the values are simply shown as traffic lights and the user has no indication of how close (or not) the current value is to passing into a different zone. Again, a dimension could be added to this to create a sparkline. This chart would work well if linked to a Parent chart, please refer to the Parent Chart section for further details.
Example
Colours have been defined in the ‘Targets’ section of the ‘Edit chart’ menu to specify the colours that appear on the Traffic Light chart. This chart has been added to a dashboard that is controlled by a parent chart. When an element is selected in the parent chart, the colour in the traffic light chart will update. Data values have also been added to both charts.
In order to understand the data in Traffic Light Chart Types, Data Labels should be added. These are not displayed as default so please refer to Show Data Values for details on how to add these.
In the January 2022 release, ‘Show Data Values’ on the Attributes screen will be selected by default.
