Merged Charts
Merged charts, introduced in the March 2021 release of the Dashboard, enables users to combine up to 3 separate charts into one chart. The following sections cover how to create a Merged chart and we’ve also included a few examples of how you might want to use them.
Here’s a couple of examples of what you can achieve with Merged charts.
A very simple Merged chart that shows a comparison between data using a Spline Area and a Stacked Bar chart.
The following example shows how you can use Merged charts to compare current and previous month’s figures by using a Category Object filter.
When merging three charts together, the right-hand side of the chart will have two Y-Axis representing the second and third chart respectively. However, in some cases these axis are the same - in terms of the number displayed in intervals up them and the labels on them - making the second of them somewhat redundant.
New functionality was added in our August 2023 release that removed one of these axis in such situations.
By default, each axis is labelled with a combination of the name of the chart it has come from and the name of the object it is associate with. So, in order to have axes represented by a single Y2 axis you would have to either hide the Y2 labels or create a custom Y2 label - both of these options are available in the ‘Attributes’ tab of the Chart Editor.
